JIKO Author Fees Policy
To ensure the sustainability and quality of our open-access publishing model, JIKO applies the following author fees. These fees cover the costs of submission handling, editorial processing, peer-review management, publication, and online hosting services. The detailed breakdown is as follows:
-
Submission Fee: IDR 0
This fee is charged at the time of manuscript submission to cover initial screening, plagiarism checks, and administrative processing. This fee is non-refundable regardless of the editorial decision. -
Editorial Processing Charges (EPC): IDR 0
This fee supports the editorial work including desk review, assignment to editors and reviewers, and manuscript tracking through the editorial workflow. -
Article Processing Charges (APCs): IDR 750,000
This fee is charged upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication. It covers peer review coordination, layout formatting, metadata assignment, DOI registration, and open-access dissemination. -
Page Charges:
Each article includes up to 12 pages under the standard APC. Any additional pages will incur an extra charge of IDR 10,000 per page. -
Colour Charges:
Colour figures are welcome and are published at no additional cost in the online version. If printed colour pages are requested (if applicable), additional charges may apply. -
Fast Track Review Fee: IDR 300,000
This optional fee is for authors who wish to expedite the peer-review and editorial decision process. By paying this fee, the editorial decision and notification will be guaranteed within 7 days.
Note:-
Fast track does not guarantee acceptance; it only accelerates the editorial decision-making process.
-
The actual processing time also depends on the author's responsiveness during the revision stages.
-
Waivers and Payment Flexibility
-
JIKO may grant partial or full waivers of APCs and Fast Track Review Fees for authors facing financial hardship, students, or authors from low-income countries, upon request and editorial board approval.
-
Authors may also request a payment extension (delayed payment) under special circumstances. Requests must be made in writing and approved by the editorial office prior to the publication decision.
Article Withdrawal Charges
-
If an author chooses to withdraw a manuscript after peer review has commenced, a withdrawal fee may be charged, not exceeding the total APC (IDR 750,000).
-
However, no withdrawal fee is applied if the manuscript is withdrawn before entering the peer-review stage or due to delays attributable to the journal.
